Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC) is FEMA’s new Pre-Disaster Mitigation (PDM) Program. The BRIC program aims to proactively help protect communities, strengthen mitigation capabilities, and foster resilience.
In this session, Dale Thomure, manager of Community Hazard Mitigation at ISO, will discuss ISO’s Building Code Effectiveness Grading Schedule (BCEGS). Camille Crain, FEMA BRIC section chief, will provide an overview of the BRIC program and discuss how it relates to building codes and ISO’s BCEGS. There will also be an overview of the BRIC program’s technical requirements, followed by a discussion on tools, resources, and training for BRIC applicants and subapplicants.
