ANAHEIM, Calif., Oct. 20, 2003 — Dr. James Canton, a renowned futurist, social scientist and author,will be the keynote speaker at ISOTech 2003, the property/casualty industry's insurance and technology conference, taking place at the Disneyland® Hotel here Nov. 2•4.
In his remarks, "RealTime: Creating Competitive Advantage in a Networked Marketplace," Dr. Canton will demonstrate new ways to manage risk and find opportunity through "collaboration, communication and connectivity."
In a general-session speech, ISO Chairman, President and CEO Frank J. Coyne will offer insights on how companies and the professionals who work for them can be winners in today's changing business environment. With ISO's analytical research and the perspective of a long-term industry leader, Coyne will take a close look at the numbers behind powerful forces reshaping the industry and point to where the industry is headed.
A transition expert and one of the top speakers of the 21st century according to Successful Meetings magazine, Alan Parisse of The Parisse Group, Inc., will focus on new ways of "thinking, being and acting" by management to influence organizations at a time of global market fluctuations and technological advances. Speaking on "Sustaining Success in a Revolutionary World," Parisse will examine traditional concepts of leadership and suggest alternative leadership styles to drive changes through the organization.
Vincent A. Oliva, Gartner Group's technology research director, will address the role of information technology professionals as "problem solvers" in support of their organizations' business needs. "Business Value of Technology in Insurance" will analyze how information professionals must create the "right solution for every business problem" and deliver results for the organization's success.
Workshops and Showcases
The three-day conference, sponsored by Insurance Services Office, Inc. (ISO), combines a broad array of technology and insurance business topics for professionals in scores of fields. The conference features 30 workshops on technology application issues and business solutions addressed by more than 60 speakers, covering topics such as vehicle "black boxes," detecting and eliminating medical cheats, electronic claims reporting, online decisioning, scoring models, stopping identity theft, emerging public relations issues, maintaining data quality and the emergence of enterprise application integration.
In addition, conference participants will have an opportunity to learn about the latest technological innovations through 19 product showcases presented by vendors at the conference.
Some 750 business and technology representatives will take part at ISOTech, now in its seventh year. More than 70 technology companies will exhibit products and services at the event.
