ISO Vice President Art Cadorine Receives IASA President's Award

JERSEY CITY, N.J., June 16, 2008 — Arthur R. Cadorine, vice president of ISO’s Information Acquisition, Development, and Service Department, has received the Insurance Accounting and Systems Association (IASA) President’s Award. IASA President John Bauer of Prudential Financial presented the award to Cadorine at the recent IASA 2008 Annual Educational Conference in Seattle, Washington.

Cadorine received the honor for his outstanding contributions to the growth of IASA, his significant volunteer services to the organization, and his numerous contributions to the financial services industry.

For the past six years, Cadorine has served on IASA’s board of directors, where he has helped determine the strategic direction of IASA and establish corporate policies. For the three years prior, Cadorine led IASA’s Technology Program committee, where he guided the planning and arrangement of the systems technical sessions at its annual conference.

IASA is a non-profit, education association that strives to enhance the knowledge of insurance professionals and participants from similar organizations closely allied with the insurance industry by facilitating the exchange of ideas and information. IASA is one of the insurance industry’s largest and most well-represented trade associations.

“It’s an honor to have your peers recognize that what you’re doing is meaningful,” said Cadorine. “My involvement with IASA over the past 25 years has been a two-way street, and I continue to learn from the organization and its members.”

Cadorine’s 44-year career in insurance began in 1964 as an actuarial assistant at the National Bureau of Casualty Underwriters, a predecessor of ISO. For the past 20 years, he has had various responsibilities in ISO’s data management area, leading up to his current responsibility for the commercial lines database and data products development. Today, he is responsible for ISO’s Workers Compensation Information Services products.

In 2007, Cadorine received the Gary Knoble Service Award from the Insurance Data Management Association (IDMA) for his accomplishments in developing the data-management profession. He is a past president of the organization and currently serves on its board of directors.

In 2004, the Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) recognized Cadorine’s significant volunteer contributions to the actuarial profession with the Matthew Rodermund Service Award. A CAS member since 1969, Cadorine’s contributions to CAS include committee involvement, participation in CAS meetings and seminars, volunteer efforts for regional affiliates, and involvement with non-CAS professional organizations, such as the American Academy of Actuaries.
