NEW YORK, May 11, 1998 — Insurance Services Office, Inc. (ISO) named Roy S. Nicolosi its senior vice president and chief information officer.
Nicolosi has joined ISO from Gtech Corp., where he was senior vice president in charge of developing, installing and maintaining hardware, software and communications technologies.
Gtech is a leading global supplier of online systems, computerized transaction systems and network management for government and industry. In particular, Gtech is the market leader in supplying systems to government-sponsored lotteries.
"Roy Nicolosi brings us tremendous depth of experience and knowledge in online systems as we work toward our strategic objective of delivering ISO products and services electronically," said Fred R. Marcon, ISO's chairman, president and chief executive officer. "Our information products and the technologies that we use to produce and deliver them are becoming inseparably fused, so it's significant that we have the management leadership to extend ISO's tradition of world-class information management and technology."
At Gtech Nicolosi managed development and implementation of new systems architecture for government-sponsored lotteries, as well as installation of technology for 15 lotteries worldwide and for systems that distribute welfare benefits and food stamps.
Before joining Gtech as senior vice president four years ago, Nicolosi was a consultant for NYNEX Corp., the New York-based telephone operating company, where he managed the implementation of a state-of-the-art client/server system and reengineered customer-service systems.
Nicolosi began his business career as a sales representative with Digital Equipment Corp. in 1977, when he left the U.S. Air Force after serving as a captain and jet pilot, including combat service in Vietnam. He later served as director of operations for National Data Systems, a New Jersey-based consulting firm; as vice president and director of operations at Citibank; as senior vice president and chief information officer of Security Pacific National Bank's (now Bank of America) Sequor Group, the bank's securities-processing and fiduciary-services unit; and as senior vice president and chief information officer of JWP Group, a technical-services company.
Nicolosi received his bachelor's degree in chemical engineering and his master's degree in management science from the Stevens Institute of Technology.
