JERSEY CITY, N.J., Aug. 5, 2002 — Insurance Services Office, Inc. (ISO) has expanded the ISO ClaimSearch antifraud system to provide access to the broadest range of criminal and civil records searches available today.
The enhancement of ISO ClaimSearch service includes direct access through its website to federal, state and county criminal and civil records searches countrywide, the Sheriffs' National Data System and other exclusive online sources. Additionally, users have extensive off-line access to single-county criminal and civil record searches.
"Access to criminal and civil records searches is a significant addition to the ISO ClaimSearch tools for claims and investigations," said Richard P. Boehning, ISO senior vice president. "Customers who subscribe to the public records portion of ISO ClaimSearch have been interested in and looking forward to access to criminal records.
"We're pleased to deliver extensive and broad searches — at very competitive prices," Boehning said.
ISO is providing the searches in partnership with Intellicorp, Ltd., of Solon, Ohio, a leader in providing instant employment screening and risk-assessment information. The company maintains the Sheriffs' National Data System and offers instant access to many other original sources of crime information.
Subscribers can search for county criminal court records, arrest and booking records, inmate and conviction records,county civil court records, statewide criminal records in a large majority of the 50 states, as well as federal civil and criminal records.
Intellicorp criminal records searches are the latest in third-party data accessible through ISO ClaimSearch. Information from more than 250 public records sources is also available, including consumer records, business records, telephone listings, ZIP+4 listings and vehicle identification number (VIN) listings.
ISO has also recently expanded the ISO ClaimSearch system to include an Auto Physical Damage (APD) database, containing 129 million detailed claims records.
ISO ClaimSearch is the world's largest repository of insurance claims, with more than 290 million claim records, and third-party information. Insurers representing more than 92 percent of the U.S. property/casualty industry in premium volume use the system.
The ISO ClaimSearch system receives 250,000 claims in all property/casualty lines every day. Information is available through host-to-host transmissions and the ISO ClaimSearch secure Internet information-delivery platform.
