NEW YORK, Dec. 23, 1996 — Robert Grimm, 48, has been named senior vice president and chief information officer of Insurance Services Office, Inc. (ISO).
As the head of ISO's Information Systems & Technology Department, Grimmis responsible for planning, development, implementation and technical support for the wide array of electronic data and information services ISO provides to customers. He is also responsible for overseeing ISO's data center, internal systems and data bases.
Grimm joins ISO from GE Capital Corp. in Stamford, Conn., where he was vice president and chief information officer. His background includes experience in electronic data interchange interfaces, client-server technology, systems architecture, year-2000 reengineering, application development, and network and data-center management.
Before assuming the CIO position at GE Capital in 1992, Grimm was a partner at Andersen Consulting in Cleveland, Ohio, where he spent 18 years developing and implementing a variety of systems, including those used for insurance underwriting, claims, pricing, policy quotation, billing and customer service.
A resident of New Canaan, Conn., Grimm holds a master's degree in business administration from Case Western Reserve University and a bachelor's degree in mathematics/computer science from Case Institute of Technology.
ISO provides information about property/casualty insurance, including statistical information, actuarial analyses, policy language and related services. ISO's customers include more than 1,500 insurance companies, as well as agents and regulators.
