WebInsight 7.6 Strengthens GHS Classification Module for Heightened Efficiency and Streamlined Classification of Ingredients, Substances, and Mixtures
Carlsbad, Calif., March 25, 2013 — 3E Company, a leading provider of environmental health and safety (EH&S) compliance and information management services, today announced the availability of Ariel WebInsight™ 7.6, the latest version of its web-based chemical regulatory compliance reference tool. The latest version strengthens the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS) Classification module to further streamline the process of performing classifications required by national adaptations of GHS.
The GHS Classification Module is used to determine the GHS classification of a substance or mixture and to generate GHS labels. The expanded module’s new features empower users to more efficiently perform mixture classifications. Enhancements include saving ingredient-level classification data for reuse in other products as well as the ability to refine the load of Ariel regulatory and experimental data for multiple ingredients. The new features streamline the ingredient data entry process and allow users to more quickly determine the appropriate GHS classification for products. The product and ingredient search functionality has also been enhanced, and users can now search through a library of available products and ingredients.
WebInsight 7.6 allows classifying for additional countries that have adopted GHS, including Brazil, Mexico, Thailand, and the United States. Selecting a specific country prior to classification will apply the cut-off limits and classification categories adopted by that country.
“National regulatory authorities around the globe are moving forward with their respective GHS implementations, many of which have varying thresholds for classification,” said Julia Tsvetkova, director of product management, 3E Company. “The features that we have added to Ariel WebInsight 7.6 make conforming to these varying classification requirements more efficient by giving the user access to current and comprehensive classification data and rules. These critical features enable improved conformance with GHS and reduced risk.”
Ariel WebInsight 7.6 is available now. Existing customers will immediately upgrade to WebInsight version 7.6. The GHS Mixture Classification module carries a separate subscription, with pricing based on the number of licensed users. Pricing for Ariel WebInsight is based on the number of licensed users and selected modules.
