Ariel WebInsight 7.0 Addresses Latest Requirements in Green Chemistry, GHS, Globalization, and REACH
Carlsbad, CA, July 1, 2011 — 3E Company today announced the availability of Ariel WebInsightTM version 7.0, the latest version of its web-based chemical regulatory compliance reference tool. The latest version includes a new Green Score Analysis module, which provides access to critical information needed to quickly assess the environmental health and safety (EH&S) regulatory and sustainability footprint of chemical products and aid in the development and selection of safer and more environmentally friendly ingredients. It also features a number of enhancements to the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS) Classification and Multilingual Phrases modules. 3E Company is a leading provider of EH&S compliance and information management services.
Green Score Analysis Module
With Ariel WebInsight 7.0, users can rank their products according to 3E Company’s formulas and assign a green score to products based on criteria that include an evaluation of a product’s impact on human health, property, and the environment. Users of the application perform analyses to compare the green score of multiple substances and determine optimal inputs for new products. The module also helps determine how the use of certain substances affects the overall green rating of the final product.
GHS Mixture Classification Module Enhancements
Ariel WebInsight 7.0 introduces a number of enhancements to the GHS Mixture Classification module. The new version of the application allows saving of substance classifications, reuse of products previously entered in MyWebInsight, and generation of GHS labels in all EU and major Asia Pacific languages.
Multilingual Phrases Module Enhancements
The Multilingual Phrases module now contains Hazard and Precautionary (H and P) statements for conformance with GHS, as well as GHS hazard classification phrases in more than 30 languages.
REACH Dissemination Database for Substance Information
Ariel WebInsight 7.0 allows access to International Uniform Chemical Information Database (IUCLID) 5 reports from Europe’s Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals (REACH) dissemination database for substance information. This feature enables users to quickly locate substances based on chemical name, Chemical Abstracts Service (CAS) number, and generic links.
“With the release of WebInsight 7.0, we expect to further strengthen the product’s position as the premier chemical regulatory compliance tool on the market today,” said Julia Tsvetkova, senior product manager, Ariel product line, 3E Company. “The new Green Score Analysis capability will help users reduce their products’ toxic footprint, facilitate the development of more environmentally friendly products, and support the management of chemical regulatory compliance obligations.”
Ariel WebInsight 7.0 is available now. Existing customers will immediately upgrade to WebInsight version 7.0. The Green Score Analysis, GHS Mixture Classification, and Multilingual Phrases modules are separate subscriptions, with pricing based on the number of licensed users.
