David J. Grover is Verisk’s controller and chief accounting officer. He’s charged with optimizing the company’s financial performance, including its reporting, liquidity, and return on investment.

David is responsible for Verisk’s accounting policies, controls, and accounting operations. He works closely with his global team to ensure all financial reporting is in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and that the company’s accounting policies and procedures are rigorously adhered to across the globe.

Before assuming these roles, David became Verisk’s assistant controller in 2007, responsible for general and technical accounting, including performing accounting due diligence for acquisition targets, external financial reporting, and leading aspects of corporate accounting operations. He played an integral role in Verisk’s initial public offering in 2009 and its implementation of Sarbanes-Oxley Act controls and procedures.

Before joining Verisk in 2002, David served as a Securities and Exchange Commission Practice Section technical manager at the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He began his career with Coopers & Lybrand / PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he worked as an auditor from 1995 through 2001 and qualified as a Certified Public Accountant.

David holds bachelor’s degrees in accounting and psychology from the University of Maine.
