Analyze Re is model-agnostic and we give our clients complete flexibility in the kind of data they upload, the metadata they can associate with their data, and so much more. The process of getting data into Analyze Re is simple. It starts with identifying the types of data that you work with daily. Our platforms only require, at the most fundamental level, that you provide a trial ID, event ID, and a loss. Since loss sets are typically CSVs, you can create a loss set and upload it onto our system.
As you are creating your loss sets for upload, you might recognize the need to “tag” your data. This is where metadata comes in. For example, as catastrophe modelers continue to update and develop their models, it might be necessary to tag a loss set with a model ID. This makes it easier to keep track of your loss sets. Of course, the metadata option is not limited to model IDs; you can add whatever metadata you desire. Naturally, all loss sets have a currency attached to them, and you can adjust that as you are uploading your data.
REST API, Excel, and Touchstone Re
Analyze Re started as an API-first platform, so we have a mature REST API, which you can also use to upload data. You can interact with the API through either the Python or C# libraries we have created. Because we provide a REST API, you can also create your own wrapper in practically any language.
If APIs are not your cup of tea, then you can upload data right from our Excel add-in. The Excel add-in provides a clean interface for you to upload your loss sets. Once the data is on the Analyze Re platform, you can search for it through this add-in and reuse it again and again.
If you have a license for Touchstone Re™, then getting data onto Analyze Re is even simpler. Touchstone Re provides you with a button to transfer existing data directly to Analyze Re.
Validation
Uploading the data is just the first part of the process. The second part of the process is validating that your data has been uploaded correctly. For this, we typically recommend that our clients calculate an AAL (one of many metrics we can calculate, and you can use) within the platform and compare it to their internal system. If any issues come up, then our Customer Success team is only a quick email away.
The Future of Data Upload at Analyze Re
For the moment, we work primarily with location-level data; however, we have been developing the ability to work with sub-area geography data. We have been working with early-access partners in the London and Bermuda markets to ensure that our solution is battle tested for high volumes of loss data. Getting data onto our platform is easy. There are many ways to upload it, including using our API through our Python and C# libraries. If using APIs isn’t your bag, then using our Excel add-in provides an easy-to-use interface to upload loss sets. Because we are model-agnostic, you can upload loss sets from any catastrophe modeler.
